As the end of the season approaches, Luís Campos’ future at Paris Saint-Germain remains unresolved. Whilst Luis Enrique confirmed his stay at PSG back in February, Campos is yet to do the same, despite the sporting director’s deal expiring at the end of the season.
However, whilst uncertainty reigns, Campos is working as though he will still be at the club come the start of next season and is working on the upcoming transfer window, continuing to scout players for the club. A source has told Le Parisien that Campos remains “100% committed to the project” at the club, whilst there is optimism internally regarding an extension.
“Everything will be done in due time,” Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s entourage told Le Parisien. The PSG president was at Villa Park alongside Campos on Monday and Tuesday, with the pair locked in a long conversation during Monday evening’s training session in Birmingham.
However, whilst the Portuguese sporting director is inclined to remain at the Parc des Princes beyond his current deal, should PSG win all of the competitions in which they are currently, including the UEFA Champions League, he could leave in the summer upon the expiry of his current deal. PSG will also face Stade de Reims in the final of the Coupe de France with the club also on course for an invincible season in Ligue 1.
