Portuguese coach Luis Castro, recently dismissed by FC Nantes after a notable first spell with Dunkerque in Ligue 2, is already attracting interest.

According to L'Équipe, his sacking was finalised on Wednesday 10 December, nine days ago, and he still needs to settle the terms of his exit. He had arrived with four assistants and was under contract until 2027, with a further year as an option.

Interest has emerged from the Portuguese top flight and from Brazil. Botafogo have made contact, but he will not move there.

AS Saint-Étienne, who are second in Ligue 2, are also keen on the 45-year-old’s profile.

With approaches already in place, Castro could return to a dugout relatively quickly.
