Things are getting very hot, very fast in the chase to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG, and the Athletic’s Deal Sheet today has all the details.

Their writer Mario Cortegana claims that PSG have “put a valuation of at least €170m” on the winger. If that was supposed to put Liverpool off, it hasn’t worked.

PSG have looked at the Morgan Rogers move to Chelsea in particular and set Barcola’s bar above that, given he’s a double Champions League winner and a France regular.

Arsenal are linked as well as Liverpool, and the piece also has the interesting detail that Luis Enrique may exclude Barcola from his squad next season if he doesn’t move on.

The coach “only wants committed players.” That’s fair enough – but it would seem a little like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Barcola isn’t the one setting an almost impossible asking price for himself. It will be very interesting to see where this goes from here.
