Back-to-back champion liked what he saw from the Gunners in Budapest
The Gunners went ahead in the sixth minute through Kai Havertz, only to be pegged back through Ousmane Dembele's second-half penalty.
The two teams could not be separated after 120 minutes, so a penalty shootout was needed to crown the winner.
Arsenal’s dreams of winning on Europe’s biggest stage for the first time in their 140-year history ended in agony following a 4-3 shootout defeat, with both Eberechi Eze and Gabriel missing their spot-kicks.
It is back-to-back European Cups for PSG and Enrique, and the manager was keen to note Arsenal's achievements throughout the season after a close-fought game.
“Arsenal are getting closer and closer,” he told TNT Sports. “This team adds a bit more attacking power and desire. This team can have everything. It will hurt tonight.
“They played great. It’s normal. They try to take the match into phases they are strong. We tried to control the ball and press. We have won the title.”
He added later: "It is cruel for Arsenal fans, but it is inevitable that this club win the Champions League.
"Mikel Arteta will see the positives because that is the kind of guy he is."
Enrique called Havertz's goal a "lucky action", but was keen to commend the Gunners' stern defence as they prevented his fearsome attack from scoring from open play.
He told CBS Sports: "When you play against a team like Arsenal with Mikel Arteta, they try to defend in the best way.
"They were lucky because they started with the action and they scored the goal, it was difficult for us and after that, they defend very well, very deep."
