Luka Modrić reveals how Kylian Mbappé ‘surprised’ him at Real Madrid | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Luka Modrić has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for Blancos teammate Kylian Mbappé.

Modrić and Mbappé are fresh off locking horns on the international front on Thursday night.

In the first leg of the Nations League quarter-final tie between the countries, Croatia emerged on the right side of an impressive result, downing France by two goals to nil.

The aforementioned Modrić and Mbappé featured from the off in the clash, enduring altogether contrasting outings.

Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, the former was therefore drawn on his Real Madrid teammate, who of course sealed a long-awaited move to Spain’s capital last summer.

And Modrić made use of the opportunity to heap praise on Mbappé not for his talents on the pitch, but instead his character as a person:

“Talking about Kylian as a player is pointless. There’s nothing left to say. But he surprised me as a person. I have to say that he is polite, humble, and always up for a joke. He has incredible football qualities and even greater human ones.”
