Luke McCowan: Team put in an incredible performance | OneFootball

The Celts put in an optimum performance on a night that Opta stats announced that Celtic now hold the record for first-minute goals in European games.

Tonight’s latest in the 1-0 win over VfB Stuttgart was No. 8 and it came from Luke McCowan after only 29 seconds.

Not only that, it was also the midfielder’s first European strike and it put the Hoops on course for their first ever competitive win in Germany, the only downside being that the Hoops went out on aggregate

McCowan told Celtic TV after the game “I think we kind of lacked that final third pass.

“I’ve know we’ve come away with a victory – you score so early in the match to give yourself a perfect chance to go on and attack the game, and I think we did

“But a couple of wee chances here, a couple of crosses, maybe a couple of corners could have been better from myself, things like that are really critical in these games

“And the boys put in an unbelievable performance to keep it and get the win.”
