The rumors surrounding Vincent Kompany’s possible move to Manchester City continue to gather pace – but FC Bayern are now responding with clear statements

Bayern president Herbert Hainer has clearly rejected speculation about a premature departure of the successful coach and put his foot down. „With players it is often said: not for sale. And there is no transfer fee for Kompany, he is not for sale,“ explained Hainer in an interview with Sport BILD

The 71-year-old thus made it unmistakably clear that the Munich club would not let their coach go under any circumstances

Bayern sees itself secured for the long term

Kompany only extended his contract with the German record champions last October until 2029

For the Bayern bosses, this is a decisive factor in the poker game surrounding the Belgian’s future: „Vincent has a contract until 2029, which gives us security – and hopefully he will stay much, much longer,“ emphasized Hainer

The president was also convinced that Kompany had finally established himself as a coach at the absolute top level: „He has made a name for himself here with us.“

The background to the current discussions is the ongoing speculation surrounding Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City

Several English media outlets are unanimously reporting that the Spaniard could leave the Citizens after this season. Guardiola himself has publicly mentioned Kompany as a potential successor on several occasions in recent months

The Belgian has legendary status at City, having spent a total of eleven years with the Sky Blues between 2008 and 2019, winning numerous titles

Nevertheless, Hainer does not currently see any danger. „Maybe he will train at Manchester City at some point,“ admitted the Bayern president, but at the same time he made it clear that Kompany is currently fully focused on FC Bayern

„He feels very comfortable with his family in Munich,“ explained Hainer

The Bayern boss is particularly impressed by the coach’s work ethic. Hainer described in detail how hard Kompany works every day: „Vincent is the first to arrive at Säbener Straße in the morning and the last to leave.“

Even after away games, the Belgian analyzes all match scenes together with his coaching team on the team plane. For Hainer, it is therefore clear: „This diligence is not only transferred to the team, but to the entire club. Kompany is an upgrade.“

After winning the championship, reaching the Champions League semi-finals and reaching the DFB Cup final, FC Bayern seem to have little interest in allowing any discussion about the future of their coach at the moment anyway.
