Last time out in the UEFA Europa League, Olympique Lyonnais’ 5-match winning run in all competitions came to an end as they suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Besiktas, despite being the dominant team. Les Gones will be hoping to return to winning ways as they host newly promoted Auxerre.
L’Équipe understands Pierre Sage is set to rotate heavily and make eight changes to his team that were defeated last time out. In defence, Saël Kumbedi, Duje Ćaleta-Car and Abner are all set to be preferred to Clinton Mata, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Nicolás Tagliafico.
The rotation should continue in midfield with Tanner Tessmann the only player to keep his place. Rayan Cherki and Corentin Tolisso are set to drop to the bench in favour of Nemanja Matić, who returns from injury, and Jordan Veretout. Saïd Benrahma is the only player to keep his place in attack with Malick Fofana to be reinstated to a starting berth. The final change is set to see Georges Mikautadze, who is yet to score for Lyon, preferred to captain Alexandre Lacazette.
Lucas Perri – Saël Kumbedi, Duje Ćaleta-Car, Moussa Niakhaté, Abner – Nemanja Matić, Jordan Veretout, Tanner Tessmanm – Saïd Benrahma, Georges Mikautadze, Malick Fofana.
