Macau Youth GBA Tournament: A wonderful competition promoting the values of the PSG Academy in Asia

From 7th to 9th February 2025, Macau hosted the inaugural Macau Youth GBA Tournament at the Macau Workers Stadium. Organised by the PSG Academy Hong Kong & Macau, the tournament brought together more than 350 young talents from across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), illustrating the PSG Academy's commitment to promoting its values and playing philosophy through its academies around the world.

The three-day tournament brought together 28 teams in the U9, U11, U13 and U15 categories. With an overall attendance in excess of 1,000, it provided an opportunity to highlight the club's drive for development in the region.

It's a commitment to training and passing on the values of the PSG Academy over and above the results, taking part in this event gave the young players a unique experience and enabled them to fully embrace the values of the PSG Academy.

One of the highlights of the tournament was the U11 final, where the PSG Academy Hong Kong team put in an impressive performance, leading 1-0 before losing on penalties. Despite the disappointment of the result, the exemplary attitude of the young players and their commitment on the pitch reflected the DNA of the PSG Academy, which focuses on the individual and collective development of its talent.

Cultural immersion and an unforgettable experience

Beyond the competition, this adventure was also a fantastic opportunity for exchange and discovery. 60 players and 8 coaches from the PSG Academy Hong Kong made the trip, enjoying not only the tournament but also an enriching cultural programme, marked by a grand gala bringing together players, coaches and families. This spirit of sharing and togetherness perfectly embodies the vision of the PSG Academy.

An event destined for growth

The Macau Youth GBA Tournament is a continuation of the Macau Chinese New Year Cup, with an even greater ambition: to make the event a permanent fixture and a benchmark for young Asian talent. The 2026 edition, already announced for March, should further enhance its appeal and confirm the growing importance of football in the region.
