Maeda double lifts Celtic to second in Championship phase | OneFootball

Celtic beat Falkirk 3-1 at Celtic Park to rise from third to second in the Premiership's Championship phase.

Daizen Maeda opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a right-footed strike from outside the box. Kieran Tierney doubled the lead with a left-footed finish into the top corner (44.), set up by Maeda.

After the restart, Kyrell Wilson halved the deficit with a precise finish to the top left (70.) from Leon McCann's break.

Substitute Sebastian Tounekti then created the clincher, feeding Maeda to sweep in from the centre of the box (83.).

Play paused early in the second half for treatment to Arne Engels and Brad Spencer, before the game resumed at full tempo.

The Bhoys produced 14 attempts with seven on target. The Bairns registered 11 efforts, three on target. Nicky Hogarth made four saves to keep the visitors in it. Viljami Sinisalo added two stops for the hosts.
