Maghnes Akliouche named in France squad for March friendlies by Didier Deschamps

According to Nice-Matin, Didier Deschamps has named a 26-man France squad including AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche for the international camp from 23 to 30 March.

France will face Brazil on 26 March and Colombia on 29 March. Both kick-offs are at 21:00.

It is Akliouche’s fourth senior call-up. He was selected in September, October and November, scored against Azerbaijan and has five caps.

The Monaco No 11 has had a patchy season but has lifted his level in recent weeks, convincing Deschamps to recall him.

The squad has been expanded to 26 compared with previous lists, with travel and workload in the United States expected to add fatigue. Three months out from the World Cup, 11 June to 19 July, these games form part of France’s build-up.
