Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan has told supporters that he is okay following on from the nasty head injury he suffered during his team’s 4-0 victory over Udinese in Serie A on Friday night.

The France international was forced off just after the restart of the second half at the Bluenergy stadium after a bad collision of heads with teammate Alex Jimenez.

Maignan came rushing out of his area and tried to head clear an Udinese ball in-behind, but collided with his own defender, came off worse, and was briefly knocked out cold on the turf.

He was stretchered off and taken to hospital for further checks. Maignan was conscious and talking by the time he made it into the tunnel.

Maignan has since updated his supporters with a message posted to his social media profiles. He appears to be in good spirits with a little joke about the strength of his head.

“The advantage of being hard-headed, is that you have a tough head,” he wrote.

The post continued: “Everything is fine, thank God. Than you for your responses and messages! I appreciate it.”
