Malick Fofana rejoins Lyon camp as Fonseca hints at good news | OneFootball

According to Le Progres, Malick Fofana joined his Lyon team-mates at their pre-season camp in Germany on Monday evening, accompanied by what appeared to be encouraging news. He had missed all warm-up matches and was not initially in the travelling party.

The club posted a video on Monday showing him walking into the dining room at the Campus Adidas on the outskirts of Nuremberg, greeted by loud applause from players and staff.

Asked about the return, Paulo Fonseca replied with a broad smile that he was very happy and that there was good news.

It remains unclear whether the forward, injured against Strasbourg in autumn 2025 then operated on his ankle, has received final medical clearance to resume normal preparation. He has not played a minute in the first four games.

The race against time is under way, with the Champions League first leg against Sparta in two weeks.

On Tuesday, fellow forward Ernest Nuamah also arrives in Germany after playing at the World Cup with Ghana.
