Manchester City are ready to give the green light to loan out young attacking midfielder Jaden Heskey this January.

Manchester City are prepared to give the green light this January to loan out young attacking midfielder Jaden Heskey, the son of former Liverpool, Aston Villa, and England striker Emile Heskey, and Sheffield Wednesday have been touted as a potential suitor.

19-year-old Jaden Heskey has reportedly been made available for loan this January by parent club Manchester City, with numerous EFL clubs monitoring the situation.

Heskey, the son of former England international Emile Heskey, has spent his entire youth career with Manchester City, having joined the club's academy at the age of eight, and has progressed through the ranks to make his first-team debut this season.

Along with his brother Reigan Heskey, they made their senior debuts as late substitutes away to Huddersfield Town in the EFL Cup in September, coming on at the same time, with the Cityzens coming out as 2-0 victors.

Following the victory, City manager Pep Guardiola said, "Today, six players from the academy made the starting XI. Two more came on, the Heskey brothers. I think their father and mother will be so proud of their kids. That's really cool."

Reigan, 17, is the younger brother of the two and is expected to remain in the Cityzens' academy for the foreseeable future to continue his development, whilst Jaden is now expected to head out on loan to finally get a consistent taste of senior football.

Sheffield Wednesday have been linked with a move for Manchester City youngster Jaden Heskey

It was reported by Pete O'Rourke in early September that crisis-club Sheffield Wednesday were linked with a move for Heskey; however, it was later reported by O'Rourke once more that the EFL had blocked the Owls' move due to ongoing off-field issues.

But, in a new report from Football Insider on Friday, they claim that City are looking to loan Heskey out in January, with Championship and League One sides all monitoring his situation.

Wednesday have been placed under numerous transfer embargoes over the summer due to multiple breaches of EFL regulations under former chairman Dejphon Chansiri, though the club has now entered administration, as they look to finally get things back on track.

The Owls lost eight players on free transfers over the summer, including star man Josh Windass, and, due to the rules imposed on them by the EFL, they were unable to sign viable replacements, leaving them with a threadbare squad and rock-bottom of the EFL Championship after 15 games on -4 points following a -12 point deduction.

However, this January looks to be more hopeful for Wednesday, who will be hoping that their restrictions on signing players will be softened, and may once again return to a deal for Heskey, who will be made available for loan.

Heskey, though, despite his lack of experience, will add some much-needed excitement and depth to Wednesday's midfield, and would be a more than welcome addition at Hillsborough as the Owls look to perform a minor miracle to avoid the drop this campaign.

Jaden Heskey has yet to consistently play senior football in his career

Heskey's only senior appearance to date has come against Huddersfield, with the teenager being resigned to represent the Cityzens primarily at the Under-21 level.

The attacking midfielder has made eight appearances in the Premier League 2 for Man City this season, whilst grabbing two assists, captaining the side on each occasion.

It remains unclear as to how Heskey will adapt to senior football, given his overall lack of experience, but given his father, Emile, described him as a 'beast', it would be fair to assume that he will not be lacking when it comes to the physical side of the game.

Man City have loaned out Divin Mubama to Stoke City in the Championship this season, and at 20, it is also his first experience of consistent senior football.

And with five goals and one assist in 15 games, including a hat-trick against Bristol City, he has adapted well.

There is no reason why Heskey cannot do the same, and should Wednesday strike a deal this winter, they will be hoping for, and in all honesty, needing an immediate positive impact given their perilous predicament.
