Leeds United plan to add attackers in January for Daniel Farke, but departures could complicate matters, with academy prospect Gray now vulnerable.

According to Leedsunited.news, Manchester City are preparing a £40m bid for Gray and could include Kalvin Phillips in a player-plus-cash offer, a deal that would count as pure profit under PSR.

Leeds missed out on Harry Wilson and Facundo Buonanotte late in the summer, though Saturday at Elland Road brought a landmark. It was the first time in 24 years they had scored three in three successive Premier League home games, since the turn of the year in 2001-02.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is in form, Lukas Nmecha has four goals, and Anton Stach has three from midfield, so the need to recruit in the final third remains uncertain.

Exits are possible. Joel Piroe is committed but interest could sway him. Illan Meslier is in the final few months of his deal and is supposedly keen on joining Celtic.

City have long been linked with the younger Gray. A £40m outlay is sizeable for a player who has featured once at senior level, and Leeds will be desperate to keep the fifth Gray to represent the club, having been forced to sell Archie to Spurs.
