Axel Tuanzebe
As reported for several weeks, Congolese player Axel Tuanzebe has filed a lawsuit against Manchester United.
Currently at Burnley, Axel Tuanzebe is accusing his former club Manchester United of preventing him from playing “without restriction or hindrance”, which has had a major impact on his career and earnings. The case revolves around stress fractures in the lower back, first diagnosed in January 2020 and which became chronic in July 2022 after another injury. According to the British Association of Spine Surgeons, footballers are particularly vulnerable to this type of injury.
The Congolese player's complaint states: “In all likelihood, appropriate treatment plans would have allowed the claimant to avoid the pain and discomfort described, and would have enabled him to play professional football at the highest level without restriction or hindrance.” The 27-year-old “expects to be awarded damages in excess of €1,000,000.”
