Benjamin Sesko’s acquisition means Ruben Amorim has completely transformed Manchester United’s attack ahead of the new campaign.

INEOS are expected to focus on improvements in midfield next, with recent reports suggesting the Red Devils are interested in Carlos Baleba of Brighton and Hove Albion.

While the Cameroonian has not closed the doors to a switch this summer, the problem is that the Seagulls will demand a British transfer record fee to part ways with the midfield sensation.

The 20-time English league champions are currently not in a position to pay that much, having already brought in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Sesko this window.

Midfield reinforcements up next

Which is why they might opt to sign someone who will not cost as much, with CaughtOffside claiming the Old Trafford side are looking at Como’s Nico Paz as an alternative.

In fact, the report states Amorim sees the Argentine as a key part of his rebuild with the Serie A side set to demand around €70 million.

A move will not be straightforward with Tottenham Hotspur, and Chelsea both interested while Como are also trying to agree a new deal with the 20-year-old, which would allow them to demand an even higher fee.

“Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are all showing a strong interest in the potential transfer of Como central midfield playmaker Nico Paz.

“Sources familiar with the player’s situation have informed CaughtOffside that Como would ideally like to agree a new contract with Paz to remove his clauses, so they can cash in on the Argentine for more money.

Nico Paz seen as the ideal recruit

“Paz is valued at around €70m by Como, and it’s understood that Tottenham have already had contacts over a potential deal. Man Utd and Chelsea could be next, it has emerged, with sources describing this as an upcoming “battle” for ” one of the hottest names in European football”.

“The Red Devils have been keeping close tabs on Paz and see him as a key part of their midfield rebuild. MUFC could now turn their attention to midfield, with Paz looking ideal to add some quality and creativity to Ruben Amorim’s side.”

The former Real Madrid star can play all across the midfield, out wide and even up front, such is his versatility. He excels as an attacking midfielder.

Last season, the Argentina international notched six goals and nine assists in Serie A, which led to interest from all across Europe.

In fact, Real Madrid hold a buyback option, and it will be interesting to see where he lands up in the near future.
