Manchester United have been given the most favourable start to the 2026/27 Premier League season, while Leeds United sit mid-table in the fixture difficulty rankings.
United begin at Hull City then host Ipswich Town, before a trickier trip to Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. Based on last season’s average finishing positions, their opening three matches look the easiest. Manchester Evening News reports that Liverpool have the second-most manageable start, away to Newcastle United then home to Nottingham Forest before visiting Ipswich.
Leeds’ start is ranked 10th. They visit Nottingham Forest, host Brentford, then travel to Brighton, a mid-table platform the ownership would surely welcome come the end of the campaign.
Manchester City are rated third-easiest, opening against Bournemouth at the Etihad, followed by Crystal Palace away and Coventry City at home.
Both Manchester clubs face an early examination on matchday four, with the first derby of the season at Old Trafford on 12th September.
Newly-promoted Ipswich Town are handed the toughest opening. They host Sunderland, travel to Manchester United, then welcome Liverpool at the start of September as they embark on a seventh top-flight season. Each of those opponents qualified for Europe by finishing in the Premier League’s top seven last term.
