Every international break there is always a wide selection of United players in action and many have a good chance of being called up to the World Cup should their respective nation qualify.

Financial opportunity

United have spent big once again in the summer but will turn to fixing their midfield in the next transfer window.

With Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes possibly leaving the club next year, United have been linked to numerous stars like Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the club could be set to receive an income boost that could help them achieve their goals next summer.

The paper reports that “Manchester United could be about to receive a major financial boost thanks to a programme from FIFA.”

It is stated that “FIFA have confirmed that clubs will be entitled to receive a portion of the Club Benefits Programme (CBP), an initiative which also took place for the 2022 World Cup which was held in Qatar.”

What’s more, “FIFA distributed $209 million (£153m) for clubs that allowed their players to take part in the tournament, which was held in the middle of the season for the Premier League.”

Massive increase

Interestingly, FIFA are keen to expand this programme to the tune of 70% for the upcoming World Cup.

The paper reports that “FIFA have confirmed there will be a 70 percent increase to the funds that are available for the CBP. The figure that will be distributed to clubs whose players take part in the tournament has now increased to $355m (£260m).”

The governing body will, for the first time, financially compensate clubs for releasing their players for World Cup qualifiers.

United made an impressive £21.9 million from their players’ participation in Qatar in 2022.
