Manchester United boast a unique start in the Premier League this season that none of the other 19 clubs in the division can match.

Champions League beckons

United are on the cusp of securing qualification to the Champions League, with five games left to play before the close of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Red Devils have enjoyed a dramatic improvement in performances and results since Michael Carrick was brought in to temporarily replace Ruben Amorim in the dugout. Carrick has taken charge of 12 games, winning eight, drawing two and losing two.

Heading into Monday’s home meeting with Brentford, United sit in third place in the Premier League table.

Fourth-placed Aston Villa lost to Fulham on Saturday, meaning a United win against the Bees would give them a three-point cushion over Unai Emery’s men.

Given how inconsistent the club were under Amorim, the prospect of this season ending as even a partial success is a huge testament to Carrick and his work.

Unique stat

Statisticians Playmaker have revealed that United remain the only Premier League team not to have recorded a goalless draw this season.

United have yet to be involved in a goalless draw, as each of their draws to date has seen both sides celebrate at least one goal.

The last time United featured in a 0-0 draw was 47 games ago, in April 2025, when their match against Manchester City ended goalless.

Only five Football League clubs match United for this stat. Derby County and Norwich City in the Championship and finally, Peterborough, Plymouth and Reading in League One.

This term, United have drawn 1-1 with Fulham, West Ham United (twice), Wolves and Leeds United and recorded 2-2s against Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Burnley and Bournemouth (away).

United’s games have produced 103 goals in total (58 for, 45 against). Only Bournemouth, with 104, have been involved in matches with a higher aggregate goal count.

The last time United went an entire season without being part of a 0-0 was 2012/13, when they last won the Premier League title under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.
