Man United star makes ‘strategic move’ to secure summer Barcelona switch | OneFootball

A leading member of the attacking ranks at Premier League giants Manchester United is eager to secure a move to Spain with Barcelona this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marcus Rashford as the player in question.

The name of attacker Rashford of course took its place front and centre in the headlines at the aforementioned Barcelona this past January.

As much came after the winger – owing to his playing characteristics and availability on loan – was identified as the ideal addition to Hansi Flick’s squad.

In the end, no such transfer was forthcoming, with Rashford having gone on to pen terms with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, though, then the 27-year-old remains altogether keen on a move to Catalunya’s capital.

As per MD:

‘Marcus Rashford has made a strategic move in recent days to boost his chances of playing for FC Barcelona next season. Rashford has decided to put his affairs in the hands of a highly-mediated, highly experienced agent who, moreover, has recently been closely linked to FC Barcelona: Pini Zahavi.’

Super-agent Zahavi, for his part, boasts a close relationship with several leading figures at the Camp Nou, as well as acting as the representative for both Hansi Flick, and Robert Lewandowski.

Rashford’s decision to link up with the Israeli, in turn, is labelled as coming with the sole purpose of securing a move to Barcelona.
