Manchester United Women will make history next month when they begin their first ever Champions League campaign.
After finishing third last season in the Women’s Super League, United entered the qualification phase for the Champions League.
They crushed PSV Eindhoven 4-0 in August with Elisabeth Terland scoring a sublime hattrick.
United then narrowly edged Swedish side Hammarby 1-0 to make it to the final stage of qualification.
Marc Skinner’s side lost the first game 0-1 to SK Brann in Norway but roared back in the second leg to win the match 3-0 at the Leigh Sports Village.
As to be expected when playing in elite competition, United have some tasty fixtures on the horizon.
They welcome another Norwegian side Valerenga to Manchester and will also face European giants Wolfsburg, Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
The club’s official website has announced that “Old Trafford is set to host Manchester United Women’s huge UEFA Champions League fixture with Paris Saint-Germain.”
It is added that, “the home contest with the French side is being played on Wednesday 12 November, kicking off at 20:00 GMT.”
The club want that the Women’s team play in front of the biggest crowds possible and that is why the PSG match has been chosen to take place at the main stadium.
Marc Skinner’s side will also face Manchester City at Old Trafford in March in the league.
Other scheduled group home matches versus Valerenga and Lyon will take place at the Leigh Sports Village.
The last time United Women played at the Theatre of Dreams, they secured a vital 2-2 draw with City which sealed their place in European football.
