Celtic head to Edinburgh this weekend for a vital Premiership clash with Hibernian at Easter Road.
There are four league fixtures remaining, and with the Hoops playing 24 hours before their title rivals, who meet at Tynecastle, the focus for Martin O’Neill’s side is on getting their job done with a victory.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s game, the Celtic manager said: “It’s a really difficult task for us. They beat us at Celtic Park so I’m sure they’ll want to complete the double over us in that sense, so it’s a really big game for us.
“It’s only an advantage (playing first) if you win, and that’s all we can do, so we were able to overcome Falkirk, which was great, and mostly, up until the Falkirk game, we’ve been the ones who’ve been playing afterwards and trying to catch up.”
Since losing against Dundee United at Tannadice back in March, Celtic have won their four subsequent games – three league fixtures and a Scottish Cup semi-final – the most recent victory coming last weekend when the Hoops beat Falkirk 3-1 at home.
And Martin O’Neill knows that his side can only focus on the next task in hand as they close in on what will hopefully be another successful season for the club.
The Hoops boss said: “There’s still a distance to go, but we’ve fought back. We got the late goal at Dens Park from Iheanacho, which was big, we beat St Mirren and we followed it up after the cup game with beating Falkirk.
“We’re winning some matches, we’ve got a lot of work to do but we’re still there fighting, with a chance.”
