There will be many Chelsea fans out there right now saying they are pleased that Andoni Iraola needs to be convinced to join. 

And there will be many Chelsea fans telling the club to not even try and convince him to join, and they will see this development as good news.

The fact that even Iraola apparently needs to be convinced to take the job should tell you all you need to know about the state of this football club being run by these owners right now.

Iraola is certainly not a bad manager at all, but he’s never managed at a very top club and also, I don’t think he quite has the personality that is needed to be a Chelsea manager, and I doubt whether it would work at for him at Stamford Bridge. If he came, I hope he proves me wrong, of course.

The Times report that Andoni Iraola would need to be convinced that taking the Chelsea job would be worth his while.

They also say that Chelsea, who want to “undertake a process of self-reflection” before making their next appointment, have also looked at Marco Silva and Xabi Alonso. However, they remain at a very early stage in their search and, as it stands, are not expected to make an appointment before the end of the season. Andoni Iraola has also been contacted.
