Mancha Verde allowed back into São Paulo stadiums

Mancha Alvi Verde, the main organized supporters’ group of Palmeiras, is now allowed to enter stadiums in the state of São Paulo after more than a year of prohibition. The São Paulo Football Federation announced this Thursday (6th) that it has accepted the end of the punishment, which had been in effect since October 2024.

The ban was imposed after an ambush involving Mancha Verde supporters against members of Máfia Azul, Cruzeiro’s organized supporters’ group, which left at least 17 injured and one dead on October 27, 2024.

The attacks took place at KM 65 of the Fernão Dias highway, in Mairiporã (SP), in the interior of São Paulo, when Cruzeiro fans were returning from Curitiba to Belo Horizonte after a match between Cruzeiro and Athletico-PR for the Brasileirão.

The new authorization allows the entry of shirts with the supporters’ group symbol, one banner, one large flag, and seven instruments. See the ordinance released by the São Paulo Football Federation below.

The revocation of FPF Ordinance No. 160/2024, thus authorizing the entry into football stadiums of the following Organized Supporters’ Group: “GRÊMIO RECREATIVO E CULTURAL TORCIDA MANCHA ALVIVERDE,” from the city of São Paulo, affiliated with Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, duly identified, that is, using 7 (seven) musical instruments, one banner, and one large flag, with the possibility of expanding or restricting the authorization of such objects, clothing, and other accessories at the discretion of the Military Police, effective from this date. The São Paulo Football Federation will notify the State Security Agencies and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of São Paulo for the purpose of monitoring compliance with this Ordinance. This Ordinance comes into effect on the present date, revoking any provisions to the contrary.
