In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester City are big admirers of Real Madrid playmaker Arda Guler. It has been stated that the Mancunian giants are eager to get a deal done for the Turkish attacker next year.
Guler has enjoyed a good run of form at the Madrid club this season as he has put in a few eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The Turkish sensation has scored three goals and picked up five assists in 12 appearances for Los Blancos in this campaign so far across various competitions.
The 20-year-old has given a good account of himself in the opponent’s half and deserves credit for averaging 2.45 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 37.5% of his attempts on target. Guler has even been excellent when distributing the ball in the final third, based on his pass completion rate of 87.8% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2029. Thus, it won’t be easy for Man City to sign him on the cheap next year.

Guler is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to create some meaningful openings for others around him in the final third.
The Turkish sensation can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-winger if told to do so.
We can expect Guler to add more firepower to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola’s attack. He has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at the Etihad Stadium.
At 20, the future looks quite bright for Guler as long as he continues to improve with each year. Hence, he would be a great fit for Man City’s needs in the long run. With all things considered, Guardiola would be wise to get a deal done for him next year.
