Ironically, CFG might have found their next attacking talent, who cost Manchester City a loss in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Sky Blues have already made contact with 19-year-old Bayer Leverkusen striker Christian Kofane, who played 84 minutes in his side’s eye-catching 2-0 European win over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in November 2025.
The Cameroon international is one of the hottest prospects in Europe right now as he continues to enjoy an impressive season at Bayer Leverkusen, where he is under contract till the end of the 2028-29 season.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are also credited with an interest in Kofane, who is also attracting admiration from the likes of Newcastle United, Brentford and Everton.
Arsenal’s stems from the player’s rapid development and the numbers he’s producing this season, with Kofane recording seven goals and eight assists in 1,833 minutes across 40 club appearances in all competitions this term.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also amongst the clubs mentioned by Kofane’s agent as sides who retain an interest in the attacker – with Bayern boasting a terrific record of recruiting the best up-and-coming talents in Germany to the Allianz Arena.

Despite only starting 10 games in the Bundesliga, Kofane has appeared across 25 matches in the Bundesliga this season, scoring five goals and assisting thrice.
The Cameroon international has played 1,084 minutes in the Bundesliga (approximately 12 games) and clearly has room for improved game time as he matures into a well-rounded goalscorer.
Kofane is an active shooter as he averages 3.15 shots per 90 minutes – in the top 75.9th percentile for his position in the German top-flight – underlining a crucial area where he will be looking to improve in the years to come.
The shots on target per 90 minutes statistic also looks good with an average of 1.41, sitting in the top 84.9th percentile in the Bundesliga.
However, one of the main aspects of his game that Pep Guardiola would appreciate is his 5.73 touches per 90 minutes in the opposition box, making him a good fit in the Spaniard’s system at Manchester City.
