The name of Erling Haaland has once again become the centre of speculation linking him to Real Madrid.
The possibility of the Manchester City superstar striker wearing white is not new, but recent developments have reignited all the rumours.
There has been a lot of noise surrounding Vinicius Jr. and his future at the Santiago Bernabeu, given his contract situation and difficult relationship with manager Xabi Alonso.
As such, it has not been ruled out that Real Madrid will open the doors for his sale in 2026, when he will have only a year left on his contract, and move for Haaland to replace him.
Now, according to journalist Jorge C Picon on ElDesmarque, Haaland himself would very much like to play for Real Madrid if the opportunity presented itself.

“He would very much like to play for Real Madrid, as confirmed by those close to him. Furthermore, as his agent Rafaela Pimenta has repeatedly stated, he is the master of his own destiny,” the journalist said.
Haaland signed a long-term contract with Manchester City not very long ago, committing himself to the club until the summer of 2034. He remains a central figure in Pep Guardiola’s setup at the Etihad Stadium.
However, despite the long tenure of his contract, the update from Jorge Picon insists that there is a release clause which can be triggered to sign him from Manchester City.
“He has a way out of Manchester City, a release clause whose exact figure is not yet known,” he further explained.
Any move for Haaland in 2026 could hinge on how things evolve with Vinicius, given his growing frustration with Xabi Alonso and the lack of tangible progress in his renewal talks.
