Manchester City are considering a major summer move for Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, with reports from England suggesting that a bid worth up to €70 million could be on the table in the coming weeks.
According to MARCA, the Premier League side has identified the Barcelona academy graduate as a player who fits their long-term plans in the post-Pep Guardiola era.
Notably, the possibility of Balde leaving Camp Nou has emerged at a time when Barcelona are actively exploring ways to balance their finances through player sales.
While the club has not received any formal approach, the growing speculation has placed the defender’s future under the spotlight.

Reports coming from England claim that Manchester City are seriously monitoring Balde’s situation and could test Barcelona’s resolve with a sizeable offer.
The 22-year-old remains one of the most recognisable products of La Masia and has already accumulated significant first-team experience despite his young age.
However, his position within the squad is no longer considered untouchable.
The outlet reports that Barcelona would be willing to evaluate offers for the defender if a significant proposal arrives.
Although the club is unaware of any concrete move from Manchester City at this stage, they are understood to be open to discussing a transfer under the right conditions.

Balde’s market value is believed to be around €50 million, making the reported €70 million figure particularly noteworthy should City decide to formalise their interest.
Despite not enjoying the same prominence as in previous campaigns, the Spanish full-back still featured heavily during the 2025-26 season, making 42 appearances across all competitions.
However, it is important to note that Barcelona are not opposed to selling him, as they are optimistic about securing a permanent transfer of Joao Cancelo.
At the same time, Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on Marc Cucurella. The Chelsea defender has reportedly emerged as one of the club’s preferred targets should reinforcement be required on the left side of defence.
