In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Manchester City are set to rival Bayern Munich for Chelsea ace Malo Gusto. It has been stated that the Mancunian giants are showing interest in bringing the French full-back to the Etihad Stadium in this summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old put in a handful of solid performances on the right side of Chelsea’s backline in the previous campaign. Gusto featured in 49 matches for the Blues last season, netting three goals and picking up five assists across various competitions.
The French talent is currently one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. Therefore, Man City would do well to get him on board in this transfer period.
His current deal at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Mancunian club to land him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Gusto is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and can create some inviting chances for his teammates from the right flank.
The French talent can shoot the ball well from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. Gusto is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a left-back or as a right-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager. He is already experienced in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Man City.
We can expect Gusto to bring more quality and depth to the Mancunian club’s backline. He is more than capable of challenging for a regular starting place at the Etihad Stadium in the coming years.
At 23, Gusto has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Premier League giants to consider this summer. He will also help Man City challenge across all fronts in the future. With all things considered, the Mancunian outfit would be wise to get a deal done for him soon.
