Manchester City submit offer for Marseille goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli as agreement nears | OneFootball

Manchester City have submitted an offer to Olympique de Marseille for Gerónimo Rulli (34), according to a report from Foot Mercato.It emerged yesterday that the Citizens were interested in Marseille’s number one after a report from Fabrizio Romano late in the evening. Rulli is reportedly open to a move back to Manchester having previously been on the club’s books in 2016 without making an appearance. The former Montpellier man is likely to arrive as the understudy to Gianluigi Donnarumma, with James Trafford close to joining Leeds United. Sporting CP have also shown an interest in the former Real Sociedad goalkeeper.However, Marseille are looking to control the timing of Rulli’s potential departure. The Ligue 1 side are simultaneously advancing in talks over Jeffrey de Lange’s proposed move to FC Twente and do not want to lose both of their senior goalkeepers before securing a replacement.The Argentine has made 73 appearances between the posts for Les Olympiens since moving to the club in the summer of 2024 under Roberto De Zerbi.GFFN | George Boxall
