Manchester City take on Burnley tonight at Turf Moor, with the opportunity to jump to the top of the Premier League table staring them in the face. Following their win over Arsenal, City know that a win tonight will see them jump to the top of the Premier League. They’ll face a Burnley side who seem destined to be relegated to the Championship. However, while they have any chance of staying up, Burnley will be fighting for their lives tonight. While on paper, City are favourites to win tonight, no game is a formality, and Pep Guardiola’s side have a job to do tonight.
Manchester City enter tonight’s match with three players unavailable due to injury. Josko Gvardiol remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from the right tibial fracture he sustained in January. Gvardiol is progressing well in his recovery from the injury and may return to action for the final stages of this season.
Ruben Dias will again miss today’s match due to an ankle injury. Dias has missed City’s past four matches and Pep Guardiola told the media yesterday that Dias isn’t ready to play against Burnley tonight.
Lastly, Rodri will also miss tonight’s match due to injury. The Spanish midfielder was substituted late in Manchester City’s win over Arsenal due what seemed to be a groin injury. Pep Guardiola revealed that Rodri won’t play tonight, and his participation in Manchester City’s upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Southampton this weekend is also in doubt.
