Manchester City return to Premier League action on Saturday, aiming to continue their recent revival when they host Burnley at the Etihad Stadium.
After a slow start to the season, Pep Guardiola’s side are now unbeaten in three league games and will see this fixture as the perfect opportunity to secure a convincing win.
History is overwhelmingly on their side. City have won their last 13 consecutive matches against the Clarets in all competitions, scoring 46 goals in the process. Another victory is widely expected as they look to find the consistency required for a successful title defence.
Pep Guardiola has been handed a major boost with the news that striker Erling Haaland is fit to play this weekend. The Norwegian has recovered from the back injury that was a concern in his last match and is ready to feature.
There is also positive news regarding Mateo Kovačić, who is closing in on a return from a long-term injury, though he remains a major doubt for this fixture. However, City will still be without Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmoush, and Abdukodir Khusanov, who all remain sidelined.
Manchester City predicted XI: Donnarumma; Lewis, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Rodri; Bernardo, Reijnders, Foden, Doku; Haaland.
The Premier League fixture will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, 27 September 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm BST.
The match will not be broadcast live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm Saturday blackout.
