Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend with the Citizens on a run of four straight defeats.
It’s an unprecedented run of form for the champions, who will hope to get back to winning ways and reduce the gap to leaders Liverpool. Pep Guardiola’s decision to sign a contract extension this week has lifted City, while several big names are nearing returns.
Having navigated a challenging period of absences of late, Guardiola will be delighted to see his squad swell in numbers.
Spurs are also aiming to bounce back after a shock setback at home to Ipswich before the break. However, the North Londoners eliminated Manchester City from the Carabao Cup earlier this month and will take confidence from that result.
Ange Postecoglou’s side must improve a poor away record, having won just once on the road this season.
Manchester City have been boosted this week with Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Manuel Akanji, John Stones and Jack Grealish all taking part in training. Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku and Nathan Ake could also be in contention, giving the Citizens a much healthier list of options.
Rodri remains a long-term absentee with his ACL issue, though the Spaniard will be at the Etihad this week. He is set to be presented with his Ballon d’Or in front of the Manchester City crowd.
Manchester City predicted XI: Ederson; Lewis, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol; Gundogan; Bernardo, De Bruyne, Foden, Savinho; Haaland.
