Manchester City wants to keep John Stones
John Stones, the 31-year-old English defender, could soon extend his contract with Manchester City. His current deal expires at the end of the season, but the club and player are set to open negotiations to remain together.
Stones joined City from Everton in 2016. Since then, he has made 282 appearances, scored 19 goals, and provided 9 assists. Despite suffering some injuries, he remains a key figure for Pep Guardiola and the team. The England international, who has earned 83 caps, wants to stay at City, and the club is eager to secure his future. The new contract could run until the summer of 2028, ensuring stability at the heart of the Citizens’ defence.
This summer, clubs like Juventus, Everton, Brighton, and West Ham showed interest in Stones, but no transfer materialized. With this extension, Manchester City secures a key player for the coming seasons.
