Manchester City attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki (22) is set to be recalled by France national team manager Didier Deschamps this Thursday. The Les Bleus boss will announce his squad tomorrow for the November international break, in which France will host Ukraine and play Azerbaijan in Baku. France need a win against Ukraine to seal their place in the 2026 World Cup.
RMC Sport reports that France’s forward lines will be heavily changed compared to last month, when Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche and AC Milan’s Christopher Nkunku were called up. The outlet understands that the three of them could be left out as Cherki is expected to return to the international fray.
Kylian Mbappé, Hugo Ekitiké, Kingsley Coman and Bradley Barcola are certain to get the call, whereas Tottenham’s Randal Kolo Muani could also be given a way back to Clairefontaine. The PSG loanee registered an assist during Tottenham’s 4-0 home win against Copenhagen. Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé will miss out due to injuries.
