In a recent segment on Youtube, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Manchester United are in constant contact to land Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. Romano said,

“I can tell you that today, even if it’s Sunday, the contacts continue, even today, between Manchester United and Brentford.

“So constant contacts between the two clubs to reach an agreement for Bryan Mbeumo. There is still no here we go, but may United keep working on that, United keep advancing, United keep their confidence and their optimism to make the deal happen.

“So Manchester United are going very strong for Bryan Mbeumo, and now the feeling is quite positive on that one, once again.

“So don’t forget the Bryan Mbeumo deal for the next days, for the next week also, because may United will be pushing and pushing again to get it over the line, and so the here we go is still a strong possibility for Bryan Mbeumo as a new Manchester United player.”

Mbeumo’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

The Cameroonian talent put in a string of impressive displays for Brentford in the final third last season. Mbeumo found the back of the net 20 times and picked up nine assists in 42 appearances for the Bees in the previous campaign across all fronts.

The 25-year-old did well to average 2.08 shots per 90 minutes in Premier League football and kept 43% of his attempts on target. However, he lacked quality when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass success rate of 66.1% in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Move In For Mbeumo?

Mbeumo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.

The Cameroonian talent is a useful contributor in the final third. He mainly operates as a right-winger but can also fill in as a centre-forward if told to do so.

We can expect Mbeumo to inject more pace and firepower into Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s frontline. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club next season.

At 25, Mbeumo has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for the Red Devils to consider in this summer transfer window.
