Manchester United have been handed a boost ahead of Leeds United’s visit, with Patrick Dorgu stepping up his recovery from injury.
The club said in a statement that the 21-year-old is working individually on the pitches at Carrington, and that there is no timeline for a first-team return, with the current aim of him rejoining the squad before the end of the season.
The Denmark international sustained a hamstring issue in January’s 3-2 win at Arsenal and was forced off with nine minutes remaining. He had earlier made it 2-1 in the 50th minute.
That came at the end of a productive spell, which included a Goal of the Month strike against Newcastle United on Boxing Day and involvement in one of the two goals against Manchester City.
Leeds travel to Old Trafford next Monday night as their Premier League survival bid resumes, following today’s FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham.
United are scheduled to head to Dublin next week for an intensive training camp as they prepare for the run-in and pursue Champions League qualification.
