Manchester United could resurrect their move for Atalanta’s Ederson but not at the previously agreed £35 million fee, per BBC Sport

The Red Devils were on the cusp of signing Ederson after agreeing personal terms and the structure of the deal with Atalanta.

But the Premier League giants backed out due to concerns flagged up during the player’s medical.

They could, however, resurrect the transfer later this summer depending on how the window develops for the club.

With Champions League football back on the agenda, United are looking to add quality and depth to their squad.

They suffered several setbacks in their pursuit of key targets, with Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes opting to join Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, things have been very positive in the last few hours for Man Utd. They have completed the £48m signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea.

Tielemans is said to be keen on the move, and United will pay only £35m for the experienced midfielder owing to a release clause in his Villa contract.

Michael Carrick’s side are also in the market for a left-back due to Luke Shaw’s persistent injury issues.

They have identified Lewis Hall as their primary target, but Newcastle United are unwilling to sell their prized asset this summer.
