Manchester United are reportedly interested in a potential summer deal for Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The teenage left-back has struggled to build on a breakthrough 2024/25 season this term, with regular opportunities difficult to come by amid fierce competition for places in Mikel Arteta’s title-chasing squad and finding himself outside of the England picture ahead of the World Cup.

Versatile Bayer Leverkusen loanee Piero Hincapie, who is expected to complete a permanent £45million (€52m) move to north London in the summer, and Riccardo Calafiori are both ahead of Lewis-Skelly in the Emirates Stadium pecking order, limiting the latter to only 14 Premier League appearances and just one start so far.

A lack of first-team football has led to increasing speculation over Lewis-Skelly’s Arsenal future, with reports that the club could consider allowing him to move on in the summer as they look to sell players to help facilitate more high-profile incoming transfers, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia their latest rumoured target.

Sky Sports now report that Manchester United have the 19-year-old on a list of potential new left-back candidates, along with the likes of Newcastle’s Lewis Hall and Nathaniel Brown of Eintracht Frankfurt. Luke Shaw is currently United’s first-choice option, but is out of contract in 2027.

Sky also claim that United are looking at Everton star Iliman Ndiaye and RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, also of interest to rivals Liverpool, with Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Joao Gomes also targets as they look to sign two new midfielders this summer.

It looks set to be a huge window of change at Old Trafford, with midfield likely to be a particular area of focus after United re-tooled their attack ahead of this season by bringing in Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko, plus goalkeeper Senne Lammens, while allowing Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho to exit.

Casemiro has already announced that he will be leaving United when his contract expires this summer, while striker Rasmus Hojlund is expected to make his season-long loan move to Napoli permanent for a fee of around €‎44m (£38m).

ESPN report that United are confident that they could find another suitor for Rashford amid suggestions that loan club Barcelona may attempt to renegotiate the terms of their deal rather than trigger the current option to sign him on a full-time basis for €30m (£25.9m).

The most important decision to be made is in the dugout, where interim manager Michael Carrick continues to make a strong case to be appointed as the permanent successor to Ruben Amorim.
