Manchester United have 'made contact' over Benfica’s Richard Ríos | OneFootball

According to Colombian media, Manchester United have made initial contact over Benfica midfielder Richard Ríos for 2026/27.

The club, who have won three Champions Leagues, are planning the next window with midfield additions in mind and have placed Ríos on their shortlist. Manchester United are now led by Michael Carrick.

Any deal is considered difficult given his Benfica contract runs to June 2030 and contains a €100 million release clause. Benfica are not inclined to ease his departure.

Interest is also building in Italy, with Napoli, Inter Milan and Roma following his situation.

This season for Benfica, Ríos is valued at 22 million euros and has made 40 appearances, 22 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 12 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. He has played 3,200 minutes, scoring five goals and providing five assists.
