Manchester United have no plans to sign £26m star Kader Meite | OneFootball

Manchester United have no plans to move for Rennes star Kader Meite, according to journalist Rich Fay. 

The Red Devils have been linked with a potential £26 million move for the talented youngster before Monday’s transfer deadline. 

However, club sources insist United are being used to drum up interest from elsewhere. 

The 18-year-old has impressed with his progress since joining Rennes in 2022. Meite has made 32 senior appearances for the Ligue 1 club, scoring 14 goals.

His performances in France have attracted attention from the Saudi Pro League, who look to be a likely destination for the teenager in the current transfer window. 

United have not added any new players to the squad since splashing over £200m on three forwards and a goalkeeper last summer. 

They need reinforcements in midfield, with Casemiro leaving Old Trafford at the end of his contract in June. Manuel Ugarte also faces an uncertain future in Manchester.

United have identified Carlos Baleba, Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson as their top midfield targets for this summer.
