Ruben Amorim has confirmed two mystery injuries after captain picks up a knock
Manchester United are expecting to receive a injury boost ahead of their trip to Wolves in the Premier League.
United were sweating over the fitness of two key players going into Thursday night’s draw with West Ham and it turned out that Matthijs de Ligt was one of the mystery doubts.
The Dutchman watched on from the sidelines as the Red Devils were held at home by the Hammers and subsequently booed off by the Old Trafford faithful.
That result brought United back down to earth following the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.
There was a positive to come from the West Ham draw as Matheus Cunha returned from a two-game absence and Bruno Fernandes was passed fit to start despite concerns over his fitness.
Here are the latest Manchester United injuries and potential return dates…
Manchester United were without Matthijs de Ligt for Thursday night’s Premier League clash against West Ham.
The defender started the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace but was not in the matchday squad for the Hammers’ visit to Old Trafford.
Potential return date: December 8, 2025 vs Wolves (A)
Striker Benjamin Sesko remains a few weeks away from a return, having picked up a knee injury in the 2-2 draw at Tottenham in early November.
There is not too much concern inside United, according to Ruben Amorim, with the current prognosis seeing Sesko return in two weeks’ time.
That would coincide with Bryan Mbeumo’s departure to the Africa Cup of Nations, which could see him absent for a month.

Issuing an update on Friday, Amorim said: "Sesko is going to take a little bit more time [than Cunha]. It will take a little bit longer and we are taking care of him.”
An update on Wednesday confirmed that Sesko, along with Harry Maguire, was still “out”.
Potential return date: Mid-December
Defender Harry Maguire remains absent with a hamstring injury, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Also coming off injured against Tottenham before the November international break, Maguire has been forced to watch on from the sidelines since.
But the club hope to have Maguire back in a couple of weeks. Asked for an update on Friday, Amorim confirmed that the centre-back will be out for the “same” amount of time as Sesko.
