PSG have a big decision to make—and clubs like Inter Milan and Manchester United are surely watching closely: Is Gianluigi Donnarumma still their long-term answer in goal?

He’s under contract until 2026, but interest from Europe’s elite is growing. Since arriving from AC Milan in 2021, Donnarumma has delivered in key moments—stepping up in shootouts and making clutch saves—but his time in Paris hasn’t been flawless.

There have been notable mistakes, including the costly error against Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League, that continue to cast doubt on his ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Now, with PSG winning the Champions League, the pressure is back on to get a deal. After a string of strong performances, he solidified that he’s the club’s No. 1 in goal. However, with time ticking on his contract, other clubs will be ready to pounce.

ESPN FC reports that Donnarumma wants to stay at PSG despite interest from Manchester United and Inter Milan.

Recently, Dominique Séverac said on L’Équipe du Soir that Lucas Chevalier would only join PSG if Donnarumma leaves the club.

“Donnarumma? As soon as he doesn’t extend his contract, they’ll go after another goalkeeper,” Séverac said. “There’s a 90 percent chance it’ll be Chevalier.

“Chevalier will never come if Donnarumma is still there—he’s not going to compete with him. He’ll only come if he’s assured of being the first-choice goalkeeper.”
