Roy Keane has advised Marcus Rashford to move abroad amid uncertainty over his future at Manchester United heading into the January transfer window.

Rashford has suddenly found himself out of favour under Ruben Amorim despite enjoying a promising start under the new manager. The Portuguese dropped the Englishman from his matchday squad to face Manchester City after being left unimpressed with his work in training.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are willing to listen to offers for their talisman.

Following the development, Rashford himself confirmed he is “ready for a new challenge” in an interview with journalist Henry Winter.

Keane, who has frequently questioned the United star’s work ethic, has now given his two cents on the 27-year-old’s precarious situation.

“I don’t mind what he said. I think it’s spot on,” former United captain Keane told the Stick to Football podcast.

“Sometimes a deal just works for everybody. It’s been going on for a year or two now, there’s obviously a bit of talent in there, he’s been at the club since he was a kid.

“A change would probably do him the world of good, for him and his team and his family. Just go and play, maybe go abroad or whatever it might be.”

The former midfielder also insisted that Rashford has lost his “hunger” and it is unlikely he will get it back at Old Trafford, and should accordingly look to move elsewhere to return to his best form.

Rashford is also not part of United’s squad to face Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup during mid-week.

Ahead of the game, Amorim suggested he wasn’t best pleased with Rashford’s interview, stating he would have spoken with the manager if he was in the same boat.

However, the new United gaffer has underlined his desire to keep the superstar forward and wants him to embrace a new challenge at the Theatre of Dreams.
