The forward has again been ruled out
Matheus Cunha has issued his first update to fans over his injury after again being ruled out for Manchester United.
Cunha missed Monday’s home defeat to Everton after picking up a knock during training two days prior.
It was a surprise absence for some, but not all. Cunha was due to help turn on the Christmas lights at nearby Altrincham on the Saturday, but was a late withdrawal.
A post from @VisitAltrincham read: "Unfortunately, Matheus Cunha has had an accident in training today and will not be able to attend tonight’s Christmas Lights Switch on in Altrincham due to medical reasons.”
Issuing an update ahead of the Old Trafford clash on Monday evening, Ruben Amorim confirmed the injury.
"It was a knock in the training," the United manager told Sky Sports. "I don't know how long he is going to stay out. I think it's nothing serious but we cannot risk players.”
Cunha has now also been ruled out of Sunday’s trip to face Crystal Palace, with Amorim telling reporters on Friday: “I expect to have Matheus in the next one [West Ham on Thursday], not this one."

The summer signing has since taken to social media to thank Manchester United fans for their support during his injury lay-off.
Posting an image of himself training on a bike, the caption read: “Thank you all for the messages, I haven't gone crazy yet. Despite the joke, thank you for your concern. Much love."
Cunha will be hoping to return to fitness to face West Ham next week.
