The Red Devils have already agreed a deal to sign Ederson and have opened talks with West Ham United over Mateus Fernandes.

While United have also shown interest in Alex Scott and Carlos Baleba, the financial demands of those deals may prove prohibitive.

Casado is a low-cost target, with Barcelona reportedly valuing him at a realistic €25 million – a fee that would register as pure profit for the club.

His willingness to leave Spotify Camp Nou stems from a congested squad.

After making just 10 league starts last season, he has dropped to fifth in the pecking order following the returns of Gavi and Marc Bernal from injuries and the untouchable status of Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.

With two years left on his contract, the ‘spectacular‘ Casado has accepted that opportunities will be limited and is now considering his long-term future with the help of high-profile agent Jorge Mendes.

Casado has several suitors, including Atletico Madrid and Al-Hilal, although a move to the Saudi Pro League appears unlikely.

Having missed out on Spain’s World Cup squad, there could be developments regarding the 22-year-old’s future in the coming weeks.
