Manchester United has taken a measured approach this winter, focusing on internal adjustments. In line with this strategy, the club has sanctioned the temporary departure of a promising young midfielder to give him valuable game time and a competitive environment.

At just 20 years old, Sekou Koné joins Lausanne-Sport for the remainder of the season.

"Sekou Koné, a Manchester United player, has joined Lausanne-Sport on loan until the end of the season, subject to the granting of his international transfer certificate," the statement read.

Signed in 2024 after making his mark at the U17 World Cup, Koné is set to experience the demands of top-flight Swiss football, with a shot at European exposure in the UEFA Europa Conference League to accelerate his development.
