Manchester United plan to make further signings in January and are plotting a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson.
Ruben Amorim invested around £228.5m in his squad this summer, largely strengthening in the final third.
The addition of a midfielder remains a priority for upcoming windows, however, after enquiries for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba this summer. While Baleba remains a top target for the Red Devils, TeamTalk are reporting that Anderson is also on the club’s radar.
The 22-year-old made his England debut this month in impressive fashion, earning man-of-the-match accolades against Andorra and Serbia during September’s fixtures.
Nottingham Forest have no intention of selling the midfielder, though United are monitoring his performances and situation. Ange Postecoglou has replaced Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach at the City Ground this month, which could open up opportunity.
Anderson joined Forest from Newcastle United for a reported fee of £35m in 2023. He has gone from strength to strength with the club, leading to a maiden England call this month. This season, Anderson leads all Premier League players for progressive passes and passes into the final third.
