Matheus Cunha is again not available for selection ahead of Sunday’s trip to Selhurst Park, as he continues to recover from a knock suffered in training last week.

Cunha has made a positive start to life at United despite scoring just once in 11 appearances in all competitions, and his continued absence comes at a time when United are short of options in attack, with Benjamin Sesko still out with a knee injury.

Harry Maguire, meanwhile, remains out with a hamstring injury suffered before the international break.

The England defender was withdrawn during United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham, and Amorim confirmed that the trio would not be available to play against Palace.

"Sesko is going to take a little bit more time," Amorim said during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

"It will take a little bit longer and we are taking care of him.

"Harry, the same. I expect to have Matheus in the next one [West Ham on Thursday], not this one."

United dropped to 10th in the Premier League after losing their five-game unbeaten run to 10-man Everton on Monday.

Amorim bemoaned his side’s inability to control the game despite having a man advantage and admitted it had been a tough week picking his players up after they had begun to build some much-needed momentum.

“It is the same thing we had to win every game all the time last year and we took criticism because we are not winning. There is no excuses. If I look at the game, we should have more points. We lost control. We should have more points, and that is disappointing,” Amorim continued.

“It was a tough week, as it should be. But the process needs to continue and we need to go for the next game.”
